Grant
Scholarships to a total value of $34,000 will be awarded for study commencing in 2024 subject to the Standard Terms and Conditions below.

Applications will be assessed by a Panel of Assessors and their recommendations approved by the nzparamedic.org Board of Trustees. Dependent on the quality of applications the panel will recommend making awards towards the cost of study course fees. Priority will be given to applicants working in Canterbury. Applicants may be eligible to receive more than a single grant. The total of all grants will not exceed the $34,000 donated from Tait.

- Working in the New Zealand Ambulance or Paramedicine Sector in either a Paid or Volunteer role, and
- Enrolled in year 2 or year 3 of the Degree course or in a Post Graduate programme in 2024 Semester 2 or 2025 Semester 1.
Priority will be given to those who
- Increase the cultural diversity of the ambulance sector
- Have the desire to further share their knowledge with others
- Are studying in the field of community paramedicine
- Improve the advancement of community and emergency paramedical practice
- Are actual or aspiring high achievers

This is a major scholarship. Please be sure to carefully read the terms and conditions below, before completing your application. 3.0 Criteria for Entry
3.1 All applicants must fulfil all the following criteria
3.1.1 New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
3.1.2 Working as a paid or volunteer ambulance officer, or
3.1.3 A high school graduate
3.1.4 Enrolled in an appropriate paramedicine degree programme
4.0 Previous Grants & Employer Support
4.1 Priority will be given to applicants who have not received a grant in the previous two years from any source, and/or are not receiving any support from their employer.
5.0 Application Forms
5.1 Applications must be received through the "Apply Now" on-line process
5.2 Applications must have all requested documentation included
5.3 Documents must be PDF format
5.4 Dishonestly or inaccurately completing this application will result in immediate cancellation of the scholarship.
6.0 Selection of Recipients
6.1 Grants are awarded at the sole discretion of nzparamedic.org Board of Trustees.
6.2 All decisions are final and no discussion will be entered into.
6.3 All successful and unsuccessful candidates will be notified in writing
7.0 Payment of Scholarship
7.1 Successful candidates will need to present study invoices made out in the name of the candidate, to nzparamedic.org
7.2 The trust will reimburse the candidate or student loan account up to the maximum value conditions of the scholarship with the balance being the responsibility of the candidate.
8.0 Use of Successful Candidates Information
8.1 In consideration of the receipt of the scholarship, the recipient agrees that nzparamedic.org may publish any successful applicant’s name, photograph, information from this application, course details and amount of the scholarship for publicity purposes.
9.0 Duties of Successful Candidates
9.1 The successful postgraduate candidate will provide to nzparamedic.org one piece of research, review or opinion for the purposes of publishing to the nzparamedic.org audience under the following conditions
9.1.1 Required to be written to a standard that is reasonable for a university or polytechnic student
9.1.2 Free of copyright from other sources
9.1.3 Referenced using the APA 6th edition style
9.1.4 Authors will retain copyright to the work, but will grant nzparamedic.org a royalty free license to the piece. Alternatively it may be licensed under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-SA 3.0 - see http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/)
9.1.5 The work may be submitted at any time during the scholarship period and no later than one month after study is complete
9.2 Successful candidates will forward a letter at the end of each semester of the scholarship period detailing:
9.2.1 Progress in the paramedicine course of study or research
9.2.2 A brief narrative of their experiences of the course
9.2.3 Grades achieved for that semester
9.2.4 This letter may be passed on to nzparamedic.org Donors
9.2.5 Recipients will be required to pass all enrolled papers specified as being part of the paramedicine study programme for the costs to be reimbursed
10.0 Your Privacy
10.1 The information obtained on-line is for the purpose of processing your application.
10.2 We will not contact you except as required to process your grant application.
10.3 With the exception of processing payment for successful candidates, we will not provide your details to any third-party without your permission, except as required by law.
10.4 Information collected on-line may be used for audit purposes. Individually identifying information will not be disclosed.
10.5 If you are a successful applicant, we will maintain contact with you for the duration of the scholarship and to ensure you are properly supported and your obligations are met
